So first off...You may be asking yourself  "What is a hair regimen?????"  Have no fear, I was once in your shoes :-)  Believe it or not, you actually already have a hair regimen.  A hair regimen is the typical day to day way that you maintain your hair.

If you are on this website, then you are probably looking for a little help, and my goal is to help you tweak your current regimen in a way that will get you to the hair of your dreams!

As I stated on the home page, I started my hair journey in June 2010, so about two years ago...I was kind of overwhelmed at first because there are so many products, and supplements, and etc.  I didn't really go out an buy alot of hair products only because I knew that there was no quick hair growth magic wand.  I did, however, go kind of crazy buying supplements (vitamins specifically for hair and nails).  I do not really know how much the vitamins helped, though I took them for about 6 months to a year on a daily basis.  I cannot really remember how long I took them, but I no longer take them.

MY CURRENT GOAL: 3 to 6 more inches of length.  I hope to reach my goal  by Dec 2012!
Share your goal, and subscribe to my mailing list in the "Join Hair-Luxe" tab on the main page.

Below, I will describe my current regimen:

*Shampoo- Johnson and Johnson's head to toe baby wash
-----> Why thisThere is no real reason why I use this shampoo, I basically use it because that is what I use on my son and it gets the job done!
-----> How do you use it? I shampoo my hair usually ever other day, no more than every three days because my scalp will get very itchy and dirty.  I only shampoo my scalp and roots so that I can avoid drying out the ends of my hair with shampoo.  A small amount of shampoo does get on my ends when I rinse, but the point is not to scrub and suds my ends.

*Conditioner- V05 Moisture Milks
------>Why this? Because I detangle my hair in the shower, I need a conditioner that provides slip to my hair in order for my wide tooth comb to glide through my hair without getting tangled up.  I have tried different conditioners, but this is my favorite.  It smells really yummy, leaves my hair soft, and its like 97 cents!!
------>How do you use it? I condition from root to tip after shampooing, then I finger part my hair down the middle, and detangle each side starting from the bottom, then work my way up.  I use a wide tooth comb for curly hair (walmart), after my hair has alot of conditioner in it, I put the part that I am detangling under the shower stream to help loosen any knots or tangles.  Then I rinse it out.

*I wrap my hair every night with a satin or silk scarf

*I avoid styling my hair with heat (only on special occassions) because heat styling causes breakage and can damage your hair if not done correctly

*Relaxer-ORS (organic root stimulator) Olive Oil Relaxer
----->How do you use it?  I relax my own hair every 3 to 6 months.  I basically follow the instructions on the box.  But first, I put my hair in sections with clips where I will apply the relaxer to cut down on application time.  If you have questions about relaxing, please contact me on the "get hair questions answered" tab on this blog.

*Deep Conditioner- Neutrogena Triple moisture Deep Recovery Mask
When my hair feels really dry I use this product.  I simply follow the package directions.  I use this once or twice per month.

*Trims-I trim my own hair every 3-6 months.  I use the search and destroy method, and dusting.

THERE ARE NO SILLY QUESTIONS :-)
